CEO Or Bust?

As a solo entrepreneur endeavoring to learn, try, and (hopefully) succeed in business, I have a lot of identity crisis moments.

Who are these successful people who come before me, and what traits do they have? I catch myself thinking probably-too-constantly.

I feel I'm supposed to be something they are:

An innovator.
A salesman.
A leader.
A risk taker.
A CEO.

I won't be successful unless I can be at least one of these things.

Is that true?

Sort of. There are certainly truths and evidence of these traits lending towards success.

Their success, though, is not the only version of success. It does not have to be mine. Or yours.

Success can be having more time at home with your family.
Making that first dollar all by yourself.
Choosing what you work on.
Choosing when you work (I'm writing this at 12:30pm, and I just sat down to my computer...)

I define my success. You define yours.

Here's the mindset I've adopted for myself: Deliver yourself.

"Deliver" is a reminder to finish. Sometimes I have a hard time with that. It doesn't mean perfect or done, it means shipped.

And "yourself" basically means "you do you". I don't have to be anyone else. I can certainly learn from others, try what they did, be inspired by them. But I don't have to be anyone except myself.

How will you deliver yourself today?
